Most recently, Dan worked at the World Bank in Washington, DC where he managed large scale infrastructure projects, carried out analytical reviews and risk mitigation planning, designed government policy and economic development programs, and served as the World Bank's Lead Urban Advisor. Experience in Ontario includes the Ministries of Environment and Natural Resources, the City of Guelph, and the Region of Peel. Dan's safety management experience started in 1985 when he was safety engineer with Schlumberger oilfield services in Alberta.
Dan is a licensed Professional Engineer with the Province of Ontario (since 1988) and holds degrees in Earth Sciences and Civil Engineering (B. Sc.) from the University of Waterloo, and Environmental Engineering (M. Sc.) from the University of Guelph. Dan is also a Professor in Energy Systems and Engineering at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.
